THE NY THEREMIN SOCIETY
The NYTS is a non profit organization that promotes the visibility and application of the Theremin in performing arts, music and education.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary of activities in 2025, the NYTS was founded by Suzanne Fiol, director of Issue Project Room and Dorit Chrysler, sound artist and composer in 2005.   Starting with experimental concert series and workshops, worldwide educational programs have since been produced. Collaborators include: CERN (CH), Gaite Lyrique (L'Ecole Theremine, FR), Pioneerworks (NY), St. Petersburg Theremin Society (RU), Sibelius Academy (FI), LA Disney Concert Hall, Metropolitan Museum, Kunstwerke Berlin (DE), Caramoor Center For Music And Arts.  The NY Theremin Society was instrumental in the recreation of a Ten Piece Theremin Orchestra performing at the LA Disney Hall (emulating the first theremin orchestra concert taking place at Carnegie Hall in 1930.)  and a 17 piece ThereminOrchestra at PioneerWorks in 2016.   In residency at Pioneerworks in Red Hook, and most recently,  at  the Gaite Lyrique in Paris,  the NYTS has been growing its global network with "L'EcoleTheremin," and "KidCoolThereminSchool, "  providing  electronic music education, Theremin workshops, concert series, consultation, community support and releases.  In celebration of the Theremin centennial, the NYTS released Theremin100, a special edition vinyl/CD recording featuring 50 Thereminists from 17 countries.
